Jeanne G. Rooney Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeanne G. Rooney of Fort Wayne, Indiana, who passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jeanne G. Rooney to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Brodeur and Germaine Brodeur (Paquet). She is survived by: her significant other James W. Rooney; her children, Steven Rooney (Martha), Cathy Hosier (Jerry), Carol Bunt (Art) and James Rooney II (Lisa); her siblings, Ella Richard, Madeleine Marois and Albert Brodeur (Pauline); her sisters-in-law, Eileen Rooney, Adela Rooney and Phyllis Morrissette; her son Daniel; her daughter-in-law Diane Rooney; and her granddaughter Jeannelle Rooney. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 16th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (1502 E Wallen Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46825). An entombment was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Highland Park Cemetery (2403 E Wallen Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46825).
In lieu of gifts and flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Riley Children's Hospital and Masses.
