She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Holman and Mary Ola Shields; her brother Henry Holman; her close friend Madonna Banks; and her husband Caheen P. Murphy.
She is survived by: her sons, Caheen P. Murphy Jr. (Chauncey), Martin J. Murphy (Karen) and Michael S. Murphy (Patricia); her siblings-in-law, James Murphy and Ida; and her cousin Postella Wilson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Southern Heights Baptist Church (4001 S Anthony Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46806). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Joanna's lifelong generosity and love for others may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
