It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kate Purdy of Fort Wayne, Indiana, who passed away on February 5, 2025, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Reust and Catherine Mary Reust (Ness); her husband J. Wilbur Purdy; her siblings, Ed, Hank, Billy, Bernard, Paul, Tom, Mark, Dave Reust and Alberta Hine; and her daughter-in-law Becky Purdy.
She is survived by: her children, Wayne Purdy of Pendleton, Michael Purdy of New Haven, Patrick Purdy (Bilean) of Pittsburgh, PA, Robert Purdy (Linda) of Fairfield Twp, OH, Christine Strattman (Tom) of Indianapolis and Bill Purdy of Fort Wayne; her brothers, Harold Reust of Yoder and Lee Reust (Marilyn) of Huntington; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Reust of Huntington, Phyllis Reust of Huntington, Jean Fleck of Huntington and Mary Chamberlain of North Manchester. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
