He was predeceased by: his siblings, Reba, Naomi and Phil. He is survived by: his wife Theresa Hughes; his sons, Scott Hughes (Rachel), Todd Hughes (Amy) and David Hughes (Daina); and his sister Charlotte Rousseau (Zeke). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.
