It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Linda Diane Walters of Fort Wayne, Indiana, born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on April 20, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her mother Alpha Payne-Lawson (Aus); her sister Ethel Payne; her grandmothers, Ethel Payne-Summers (Rogers) and Jimmie (McKinnie); her daughter Erica (Warren); her parents-in-law, Mark Walters, Jr. and Doris Walters; and her nephew Shawn Smith, Sr..

She is survived by : her husband Mark Walters III; her father Virgil Payne; her children, Tomeko Warren Hopson (Kevin) and Johnny Warren, Jr.; her sister LaJuene Hollingsworth (Clem); her son-in-law Ephraim Rutledge; her grandchildren, Josiah Hopson, Aaron Golden, Carlos Rutledge, Eriana and Anyla Rutledge; her stepgranddaughters, Damiah and Mariah Rogers; her great grandchild Sevyn Hopson; her nephews, Joshua Payne (Tramaine) and Michael Hollingsworth, Sr.; her niece Makayla Hollingsworth; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Shawn Smith, Jr., Michael Hollingsworth, Jr., T'Yauna and Ja'Liyah Payne.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Turner Chapel AME Church (836 E Jefferson Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46803). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
