It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ann Simmons of Fort Wayne, Indiana, born in Cleveland, Ohio, who passed away on April 10, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her father Major Sanders Sr. (James Simmons Jr); and her sister Rebecca Sanders. She is survived by : her mother Mary Eliza Sanders; her son Wesley Nelson; her brothers, Lionel Sanders, Major Sanders Jr. and Michael Sanders; her grandchildren, Anasha Nelson, LeeAndrew Nelson and Zavier Jones; her niece Delphine Alexander (DeDe); and her nephews, Michael Sanders, Bruce Sanders and Curtis Sanders.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Nelson Memorial Gardens, Inc. (1338 Eliza St, Fort Wayne, IN 46803). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
