She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Heine and Esther Heine (Hockemeyer); her husband Wilbur Martin Knipstein; her granddaughter Amy Lynne Vachon; and her sisters, Jane Brown (Heine) and Joan Reichhart (Heine).
She is survived by: her daughters, Karen Krupski (Timothy) of Noblesville, Luann Vachon (Dan) of Fort Wayne, Janell Vaughan (Bill) of Rutherford, NJ and Susan Imler (Tim) of Fort Wayne; her grandchildren, John Krupski (Stephanie), Peter Krupski (Alison), Thomas Krupski (Sydney), Noelle Webb (Chris), Rachel Slaven (Cody), Daniel Krupski (Sara), Andrew Vachon (Gillian), Christopher Vachon (Brittany), Madeline King (Colin), Mitchell Imler (Sarah), Maxwell Imler and Ike Imler; and her great grandchildren, Henry Wilbur, Vivian, Vincent Vachon, Emmalyn, Parker, Benjamin Vachon, Noah Krupski, Hailey Slaven and Oskar Krupski.
In lieu of flowers, Maxine's family request memorials be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
