“I write to express my deep condolences to Asmeret and their children for the passing of my childhood friend, Mehreteab Yihdego. When we were in our teens, I remember exactly the place and it was in front of Aboy Yihdego’s house and at the backyard of the Gebremedhin’s (my father) house where I gave Mehreteab a very very small pebble to swallow and he did the same to me, and declared not to forget each other for life. I didn’t forget, my childhood friend. I am sad. Kiflai Gebremedhin”
