We are sad to announce that on July 27, 2025, at the age of 60, Melissa Jeane Duncan Smith of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Melissa Jeane Duncan is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Melissa Jeane Duncan's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Dean and Barbara Lou Chance Duncan; and her siblings, Jeffrey Duncan and Deborah Duncan. She is survived by: her husband Timothy Lawrence Smith; her children, Jordan Leigh and Hayley Rae; and her siblings, Timothy Duncan and Tamara DuVall.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N Clinton St, Fort Wayne, IN 46825). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 11:15 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, we have established the Melissa Jeane Duncan Smith Memorial Fund, which will support critical ocular melanoma research and provide much-needed financial assistance for families who, like ours, must travel out of state to receive life-saving cancer care at MGH.
