It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ronald Merle Shappell (Fort Wayne, Indiana), born in Lansing, Michigan, who passed away on February 20, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Shappell and Vivian Shappell (Myers); and his siblings, John, Charles, Jerry, Steven, Paul Shappell and Sally Lawrence.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Shappell; his children, Randal Shappell (Cathy), Jeff Shappell (Laurie) and Jill Smith (Steve Munson); his grandchildren, Luke, Wesley, Jarrod, Jordan and Conner; and his siblings, Neil Shappell, Suzie Boyle, Evelyn Shappell and Phyllis Wells (Darrell). He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
