She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Dorothy Applegate and Stanley Bender; and her uncle Mark Bender. She is survived by: her parents, Steve Hattaway (Dar Bender) and Sister Laura Hattaway (Jake); her grandmother Norma Bender (Mouse); her aunts, Carole Sweet and Linda Sweet; her uncle Gregg Bender; and her niece Layla Hattaway.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allen County Humane Society in Sarah's honor.
