He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred P. Blanchard and Eleanor G. "Arnie" Blanchard (Ewing). He is survived by: his wife Darlene J. Blanchard (Hamric); his daughters, Denise Blanchard and Jennifer Murrell (Zachary); his granddaughters, Bailey of Fort Wayne, IN and Emme of Fort Wayne, IN; his siblings, David Blanchard of California and Shirley Brummett (Tim) of Missouri; and his brother-in-law David Hamric (Mary) of Huntington, IN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
