With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sylvia J. Burris of Fort Wayne, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 22, 2026 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James G. Brown and Ethel L. Long; her husband Jesse Burris; her son Robbin Burris; and her siblings, Josephine Brown, W. C. Brown, Bill Brown, Fred Brown and Ponce Bingham.
She is survived by: her children, Ray Burris (Kathy), Annette Allen (Lonnie), Joseph Burris and Lena Rich (Eddie); her sister Lena Maxine Bingham; and her sister-in-law Maria Burris. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
