He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon Burns and Virginia Burns (Thomas); and his brother David L. Burns. He is survived by: his wife Marcia K. Sievers; his sons, Thomas "Jef" (Mary), Timothi (Heather), Joshua (Alisha "Allie") and Jonathan (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Amanda McCastle (Jake), Brittney Fritch (Talon), Zacheri Thomas Burns, Payton Burns, Christopher Eldon Burns (Alexis), Elise and Claybourne Burns; his great grandchild Elizabeth Rose Shadle; his siblings, Patricia Paitan (Manuel), Paul Burns (Joan) and Jim Burns; his sister-in-law Gayle Burns; and his caregiver Dr. Akhras.
