It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wasyl Chapla (Fort Wayne, Indiana), who passed away on February 1, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Chapla and Anna Chapla; his wife Kathleen; and his son Jeffrey. He is survived by: his sister Vera Alsterberg (Robert) of Tucson, Arizona; his children, Steve Wertman (Brenda) of Angola, IN, Vasil Chapla (Erin) of Fort Wayne, IN, Chris Chapla (Megan) of Fort Wayne, IN and Colleen Chapla of Fort Wayne, IN; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sara, Keaton, Kennedy and Evelyn; and his niece Ginger Macali. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Wasyl's life may be made to the American Cancer Society and Elara Caring.
