He was predeceased by : his wife Mary Ellen Jessup; his grandson Josh Butler; and his siblings, Norma Puetz, Marjorie Ammer, Frank and Harold Handy.

He is survived by : his children, Janet Hare of Brazil, IN, Julie Jenkins of San Antonio, TX, Jill Handy (Kim) of Oxford, IN and James Handy of Oxford, IN; and his caregiver Stacey Shipp. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
