He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Smith and Nina Smith (Pedigo); his foster parents, Liz Stotler and Melvin Stotler; his siblings, Beverly Michaels, Jerry Squires, Barb Merrill, Julia Phillips, Jean Shearer, Betty Hoffman, Doris Guinn, Stanley Smith, Max Smith, Fred Stotler, Scott Stotler, Dick Stotler, Charlie Smith and Bill Smith; and his foster sisters, Roxy Sparks and Opal Walls.
He is survived by: his son Ryan A. Hunter of Lafayette; his foster son Jerry Brantner of Frankfort; his sister Marilyn Davis of Thorntown; and his foster sister Fran Stotler.
