He was predeceased by: his parents, Omer Sears and Ramona Sears (Tull). He is survived by: his children, Darin Hoffman (Corrina), Brittany Hoffman, Roger Smith (Maddie), Christopher Smith (Jaidyn) and Jake Smith (Kandra); his siblings, Deb Walker, John and Douglas Sears (Barb); and his nieces and nephews, Megan Spencer (Kiel), Brooke Szipszky (Michael), Matt Sears (Makayla), Aaron Walker (Erin) and Brock Walker (Kirsten). He is also survived by 6 great nieces and a great nephew; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Day & Genda Funeral Home (608 N Main St, Frankfort, IN 46041). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dennis' honor to the Frankfort Fire Department.
