He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Byers and Irene Cox Byers; his former wife Karen Kinkead; and his brother Jim. He is survived by: his former wife Joyce McMath; his wife Melanie Jenkins; his children, Jason Byers (Michelle) of Sheridan and Kerri Caldwell of Tavares; his grandchildren, Austin Byers of Noblesville, Zachary Byers of Westfield, Katy Chandler (Hunter) of Tavares, Jazmine Caldwell of Tavares, Madison Caldwell of Tavares, Kerra Caldwell of Tavares, Kali Kingseed of Sheridan and Rosalie Kingseed of Sheridan; his great grandchildren, Evie and Colton Byers; his nephew Brian Byers of Niagara; his uncle Arlie Cox of Terhune; his stepsons, Darin Wright of Michigantown and Damon Wright of Lafayette; his friend Dale Flater; and his pet Betty.
