He was predeceased by: his parents, Lemon Wheeler and Opal Wheeler (Richardson); his children, Theresa Martin and John A. Wheeler; and his brothers, Murrel, David, Ronnie and Chester Wheeler.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Kathleen Harris of Frankfort; his siblings, Tom Wheeler (Linda) of Lima, OH, Judy Thomas of Owensville, KY, Fern Woosley of Owensville, KY, Kathy Toy of Owensville, KY, Linda Patton (Bobby) of Mt. Sterling, KY and Brenda Stroub of Seymour, IN; his grandchildren, Ashlee Moore of Frankfort, Kolton Martin (Callie) of Frankfort, Cody Wheeler of Manson, Collin Wheeler of Rossville and Emily Wheeler of Rossville; and his great grandchildren, Beckham and Quenton Martin.
