She was predeceased by: her parents, Adlai W. Wolf, and Mary Jane Wolf, Sr. (Woods); her husband Donald "Dick" Howard; and her brothers, Adlai, Jr., Merrill, Charles, Burdell, George and Roger.

She is survived by: her children, Eric Howard and Lori Simnick (Jeff); and her grandson Tyler Simnick. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Joy's honor to the Clinton County Humane Society or St. Matthew Church.
