She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Hiland and Mary Hiland Copeland (Gullion); her husband Emil Newman; her children, Emil J. Newman and Mary Michele Newman; and her siblings, Anna Belle Douglass, Peggy S. Cleveland and Billy Hiland.
She is survived by: her stepsisters, Helen Wolle (John) of Indianapolis and Janet Fitzwater (Jim) of Indianapolis. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
