He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoy Curtis and Mary Helen Day (O'Bryan); and his brothers, James "Jim" Day and Robert "Bob" Day. He is survived by: his wife Donna Kay Pugh; his sons, Patrick Day (Tashia), Brian Day (Christina) and Joseph Day (Kelli); his siblings, Joyce Houser (Dan), Margie Roberts (Mike) and Paul Day (Kathy); his sister-in-law Pam Day; his grandchildren, Ruby, Sophie Day, Grant, Mason, Anthony, Parker Day, Connor and Keegan Day; and his stepgrandchildren, Vander and Dane Lindvall. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Community Christian Church (1944 S Jackson St, Frankfort, IN 46041). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in Richard's honor may be made to Clinton County Jail Ministries.
