He was predeceased by : his parents, Willis "Shim" Unroe and Nettie Unroe Freeman (Swisher); his wife Karen Sue Redman; and his siblings, Nancy Unroe Clossin and Jimmy Unroe.

He is survived by : his son Craig L. Unroe of Frankfort; and his brother Ned Unroe (Linda) of Florida. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews.
