She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy Golden Ostler and Ruby Katherine Ostler Harrell (Elkins); her spouse Thomas G. Smith Jr.; her sisters, Bertha Toney and Betty Toney; and her stepson Bobby Smith.

She is survived by: her children, Richard Sexton (Joan Goetz) of Lafayette, William J. "Bill" Sexton (Deanna) of Rossville and Patricia "Patty" Sexton of Frankfort; her stepchildren, Danny Smith, Tammy Smith, Linda Taylor, Joe Smith and Carrol Jackson; and her brother Denny Harrell of Frankfort. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
