She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Wilhelm Meyer and Gertrude Meyer; her siblings, Renate, Wolfgang, Ushi and Gunther; her sons, William David Sears, Richard Wayne Sears, Christopher Allen Sears and Robert Brian Sears; and her friend German. She was also cherished by 6 children, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

She died of complications of Alzheimer's on April 29, 2022 at the age of 83.
