James Compton Obituary
The passing of James Compton of Franklin, Indiana leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on July 24, 2025 at the age of 93. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Tot Compton and James S. Compton; and his brother Bill Dick Compton. He is survived by: his wife Martha Joan; his children, Steven (Debbie), Pamela (Mike), Beth Ann (Tom) and Tamara (David); and also Mark Parkey. He is also survived by four children, 16 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center (300 S Morton St, Franklin, IN 46131). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at the Military Honors Greenlawn Cemetery (100 W South St, Franklin, IN 46131). A burial will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at the Greenlawn Cemetery (100 W South St, Franklin, IN 46131).
