He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian Snoddy and Mamie Snoddy (Sturdevant); and his siblings, Art Garland, Jim Snoddy, Betty Gregory, Marshall Snoddy and Evelyn Lawrence.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Snoddy (Johnson) of Franklin, Indiana; his daughters, Sarah Holywell (Andrew) of Dallas and Jennifer Snoddy of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandchild Ewan Holywell; and his siblings, Ed Snoddy (Nancy) of Indianapolis, Harold Snoddy (Jo) of Franklin and Reda Hawkins of Indianapolis, Indiana..

“Bob had many talents but music was his lifelong passion. Bob played classical guitar at our wedding in 1970, taught at our family business Arthur's Music Store, built beautiful and much sought after musical instruments, and more recently enjoyed playing at our bluegrass jam sessions. Always a professional and willing to work with anyone from novice to old pro. We will miss him and the entire musical community will be less without him. Our sincere condolences to the entire family.”
