He was predeceased by : his parents, Agnes Mae Shepherd (Anderson) and James Rollin Shepherd; his sisters, Vivian Johnson, Judy Shepherd and Pat Jackson; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Deckard and Marvin Rodgers.

He is survived by : his children, Travis Thompson Shepherd, II (Amy) of Franklin, Tracy Lee Joniec (Scott) of Parrish and Trent Michael Shepherd (Brooke) of Franklin; his grandchildren, Travis Shepherd, III (Hollis), Adam Shepherd (Caitlyn) and Mackenzie Shepherd; his children, Andrew Keller, Ava Joniec, Lani Joniec, Christopher Wilson, Logan Shepherd and Emily Shepherd; his siblings, Phyllis Deckard, Eleanor Rodgers, Barbara Olson (Earl), Becky Horton (Mark), Sharon McMahon (Jack), Ron Shepherd and Glen Shepherd; his brother-in-law Dan Jackson; and also Asher Shepherd.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the Franklin Church of the Nazarene (140 Branigin Rd, Franklin, IN 46131). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 9th 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the same location.
