He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Cleave (Beatty) and Burford Van Cleave; and his daughter Candy Barger. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Van Cleave (McNicholas); his daughter Felicia G. Ward (Tommie); his grandchildren, Devan Carl Ward, James Barger, Jr., Brittany Abell and Katherine Ward; and his great grandchildren, James Charles Barger, Malani Abell, Nevaeh Ward and Aiden Ward.
