He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Shepard and Mary Shepard (Crull); and his siblings, Rosetta Shepard, Dwight Shepard, Harold Shepard, Rolland Shepard, Thomas Shepard, Mary Irene McClure, Roberta Roe, Carolyn Coffey and David Shepard.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Shepard of Frankton; his children, Greg Shepard of Frankton, Jennifer Greene of Frankton, Jeremy Shepard (Abbie) of Elwood and Jeffrey Shepard (Jennifer) of Greenfield; his brother Charles "Chuck" Shepard of Elwood; his siblings-in-law, Phil Rinker (Barbara) and Jone Jack; his grandchildren, Ava, Macie, Chloe, Carter and Delanie; and his cousin Barbara Baker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harmony House Mission.
