He was predeceased by: his parents, Ora Hatfield and Thelma Hatfield (Stevens); and his siblings, Dale, David, Lonnie Hatfield, Delores, Sue Flick and Jean Underhill.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Hatfield (Knight) of French Lick; and his daughters, Bonnie Wininger of Jasper and Jentha Robling (Lowell, Jr.) of French Lick, Indiana..

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Springs Valley Wesleyan Church, 586 S. Indiana Avenue or Mount Lebanon Cemetery Fund, c/o Mendy Buffington, 7735 W. County Pike Road, West Baden Springs, IN 47469.
