He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Gearhart and Edna Gearhart (McPeak); his son Greg Gearhart; and his siblings, Ethel Gearhart, Edith Gearhart, Ray Edward Gearhart, Opal Gearhart, Floyd Charles Gearhart, Leonard Otto Gearhart, Donald James Gearhart, Harold Walter Gearhart, Leo John Gearhart, Sharon E. Meenen, William Eugene Gerhart, Max Junior Gearhart, Dick K. Gearhart and Roger Gearhart.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Gearhart; his children, Rick Gearhart (Amy) and Diane Gearhart; his daughter-in-law Cheryl Gearhart; his grandson Tim Gearhart (Gretchen); and his sisters, Dorothy LaVerne Alger, Ruth Miller of Indiana and Joan Harris. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
