He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Myles" Hixson and Phyllis Hixson (Smith); his wife Joan; his sister Linda; his brother-in-law Gene Brumbaugh; his sister Connie; his brother-in-law Howard Clark; his brothers, Carl Hixson and Spencer Hixson; his siblings-in-law, Anna Holle and Dave Fry; his nephew Timothy Barry; his great-niece Ashli Weikart; his great-nephew Timothy David Barry; Charles and Anna Moran.
He is survived by: his children, James Hixson of Garrett, Robin Hixson of Garrett, Elizabeth (Troy Klink) and Robert (Courtney Hixson); his grandsons, Logan Hixson of Garrett, Brock, Branson and Barrett Klink of Kendallville; his brother Larry; his sister-in-law Jeri Hixson of Auburn; his sister Norma Fry of Garrett; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Hixson of Garrett and Steve Holle of Garrett. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home (1860 S Center St, Auburn, IN 46706). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
