The memory of Armella Caruthers (Gary, Indiana), who passed away on July 19, 2025 at the age of 95, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Barbara Greenwood and John Greenwood; her sons, Maurice Caruthers and Arthur Caruthers; her great grandchild DeShanna Caruthers; and her siblings, John Greenwood, Leatrice King, Nathaniel Greenwood, Arthur Greenwood, Irene McKinney and Irma Thornton.
She is survived by: her children, Nathaniel Caruthers and Cynthia Caruthers; her granddaughters, Carol Caruthers, Kimberly Bergee (Hal) and Natalie Caruthers; and her brothers, Donald Greenwood (Bernetta) and Ronald Greenwood (Emma). She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home (4201 W Ridge Rd, Gary, IN 46408).
