It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Blanche McQuay (Gary, Indiana), born in Charleston, Mississippi, who passed away on March 17, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Robert Kirk Sr. The; her husband R. J. McQuay; her grandparents, Arkie and Atkin Taylor; her mother Connie Kirk; her siblings, Dorothy, Annie Ruth Kirk, Verry Lee Watson, Sonora McQuay, McCortie Kirk, J. B. Kirk and Robert Kirk, Jr.; her son Amoe McQuay; her grandchildren, Samica Lynon, Andrew McQuay, Huston Bond and Jaelynn Williams; her stepchildren, Lennon, Darryl of Bobby, R. J. and Mary McQuay; and her siblings-in-law, Beadie Morgan, Margie Mason, Ollie Phillips, Maudine Irvine, Roy, John D., Hollise, Oble, Roosevelt and Willie.

She is survived by: her children, Theresa Keith (Eugene) of Gary, IN, Mildred Whiteside (late Rodney) of Gary, IN, Maggie Johnson of Gary, IN, Toni Watkins (Samuel "Troy") of Gary, IN, Dr. Terry McQuay of Gary, IN, Jacqueline McGill (Dominique) of Gary, IN, Frankie Holder (Samuel) of Riverdale, GA, Kenneth Kirk (Valerie) and Andre McQuay of Gary, IN; her brother-in-law Olan McQuay of Hamburg, AR; and her stepchildren, Beadie Turner of Dayton, OH, Doris Beasley of Dayton, OH, Louvinia of Dayton, OH, Gassie of Dayton, OH, Clinton McQuay of Dayton, OH, Katrina and Katherine McQuay of Gary, IN. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of friends.
