He is survived by: his mother Rose Mary Akers (Cooper) of Frankfort; his children, Caitlyn Stephen of Valparaiso, Anna Blaski of New Orleans, Jason Akers, Jr. of Gary and Lilith Akers of Gary; and his brothers, Donald Edward Akers (Rhonda) of Frankfort, Kevin Akers (Jennifer) of Hobart and Aaron Akers of Black Oak. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren.
