He was predeceased by: his parents, Ann Hackett, and William Hackett, Sr.; his stepfather William Paul Stewart, Jr.; his brother William Hackett, Jr. (Punchy); and his stepbrother Charles Stewart.

He is survived by: his daughters, Latacia Clayton (Eric) and Ora Markee Hackett; his sisters, Rose Elaine Howard (Richard, Jr.) and Peggy Ann Williams; and his stepsiblings, Debra Adegbenro, William P. Stewart, III, Michael Stewart (Darnise) and Walter Stewart. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home (4201 W Ridge Rd, Gary, IN 46408). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
