He was predeceased by: his parents, Nile Shaffer and Alta Shaffer (Kiser); his brothers, James and Joseph Shaffer; his wife Betty Louise Shaffer; his grandson Neal M. Smith; and his great grandchild Ryan Herring.
He is survived by: his sons, Jerry Shaffer (Betty) of Stone Lake, WI and Roger Shaffer (Judy) of Selma, IN; his grandchildren, Keith, Leah, Terry and Dina; and his great grandchildren, Adam, Chloe, Hunter, Savannah, Tyler, Sarah and Janel.
