He was predeceased by : his wife Rita Herman (Robinson); his parents, Charles L. Herman and Dorothy Herman (Kave); and his siblings, James, Richard, Wesley, Jerry Herman, Ellen Butcher, Maxine Burgess and Frieda Stevens.

He is survived by : his children, Michael Herman (Brenda) of Bluffton, IN, Teresa Heckler (Douglas) of Geneva, IN and Randall Herman (Beth) of Geneva, IN; his grandchildren, Camille Himes (Shane) of Bluffton, IN, Ashley Mayne (Greg) of Bluffton, IN, Lindsey Hilty (Jacob) of Bryant, IN, Jordan Heckler of Geneva, IN, Kaitlyn Heckler of Bluffton, IN, Thomas Herman of Geneva, IN and Kaleigh Herman of Geneva, IN; and his great grandchildren, Sophia Mayne of Bluffton, IN., Reece Himes of Bluffton, IN. and Gracie Mayne of Bluffton, IN..

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, May 4th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Downing & Glancy Funeral Home (100 Washington St, Geneva, IN 46740). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
