We announce the death of James Burden (Georgetown, Indiana), born in New Albany, Indiana, who passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 81. James will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Burden and Norma Burden; his brother Mike Burden; and his in-laws, Glenn and Irene Walts.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Burden; his children, Joy Simon (Wade), Cricket Burden (Brenda Klapko) and Jeni Wiseman (Greg); his grandchildren, Jessie Ballou (Justin), Jackie Roberts (Leon), Matthew Olsen, Casey Simon (Ashley), Lexi Naidu-Wiseman (Divesh), Seth Burden, Jason Burden and Noah Wiseman; and his sisters, Denise Goodman (Walt) and Leah Early (David Kruse).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home (7420 IN-64, Georgetown, IN 47122). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home (7420 IN-64, Georgetown, IN 47122).
