We announce the death of Lemuel Pembrook Carpenter Jr. in Georgetown, Indiana, who passed away on June 10, 2026, at the age of 77. Lemuel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Jean and Lemuel Pembrook Carpenter; and his siblings, Michelle Morris and Mark Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Janet Carpenter; his children, Melissa Carpenter and Lemuel Carpenter; his daughter-in-law Cecelia Carpenter; his granddaughter Emilia Pembrook Carpenter; and his siblings, Mary Ann, Deborah (Billy), Glenn (Karen) and Matthew (Maria). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
