He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth C. Gusler and Esther Gusler (Lantz); and his sisters, Audrey Swartzendruber (Ken) and Karen Gusler. He is survived by: his wife A. Kay Gingerich; his children, Ann Vendrely (Patrick) and Jay Gusler (Nicole); his grandchildren, Katelyn Brenneman (Joseph), Christian Vendrely, Sydney Gusler and Sadie Gusler; and his brother Duane Gusler (Cheri).

Memorials in memory of Carl can be directed to College Mennonite Church, Goshen College, or Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary.
