He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Sword and Carrie Sword (Pinson); his siblings, Edgar Sword and Peggy Grimes; his aunts, Mattie Harris, Anna Mae Darby, Katherine Jacobs, Alice Francis, Elsie Damron and Mary Farris; his siblings-in-law, Kathy Sword, Karen Sword and Kevin Jordan; and his parents-in-law, Philip and Patricia Burton.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Sword (Burton) of Goshen; his children, Daniel Sword (Nikki) of West Salem, OH and Carrie Springman (Brad Conover) of Mishawaka; his grandchildren, William, Ruby, Sedrick and Nora; his siblings, Russel Sword (Sandy), Stoney Sword, Anna Russell, Patty Gum (Larry), Artie Sword (Jayne), Sandy Jordan, Debbie Galloway, Kenny Sword (Stacy), Melissa Savel (John) and Jean Daniel; and his in-laws, Sue Rerick (Bob), Phyllis Bryant (Steve), Kenny Burton (Janie), Billy Burton (Kristine), Denny Springman (Dawn), Dennis Springman, Amanda Verity (Joe) and Penny Conover. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
