He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosco Unger and Blanche Unger (Plumlui); and his daughter Julia Ann Unger. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Unger (Frank); his daughter Cynthia Wiederman (Robert); his grandsons, Alex Wiederman (Olivia Wenger) and Nicholas Wiederman; his great grandchild Melanie Wiederman of Goshen; and his sisters, Carol Rupchock (John) and Linda Snodgrass (Danny).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at 6:00 PM and on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM.

Memorial donations may be directed to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen.
