He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Alvin and Sarah Alma Birky (Kenagy); his son Steve; his siblings, Elden, Minerva, Ruth and Lela; and his great grandchild Deanne Birky-Hartman.
He is survived by: his brother Wilbur of Goshen, Indiana.; his children, Karl Birky (Ginny) of Newberg, OR, Anne Birky of Goshen, IN, Kate Birky (Tim Welsh) of Payson, AZ and Rachel Hamilton (Steve) of Lake Elsinore, CA; his daughter-in-law Therese of Saverne, France.; his grandchildren, Matthew Hamilton, Joseph Hamilton (Amy Epp), Angelique Birky-Hartmann (Simon Hartmann) and Rosabeth Birky Koehn; and his great grandchildren, Naomi Hamilton and Orie Hamilton.
