She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerben Zichterman and Anna Zichterman (Booden); her husband Gordon E. Roberts; and her siblings, Ruth Drenth, James, Philip, John and Gerald Zichterman.

She is survived by: her daughters, Kathleen Rogers of Goshen and Kerry Roberts of Hamburg, Germany. She is also survived by three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

“In loving memory of Mary L. Roberts, Mary was a close friend and mentor of our family, especially our Mother Roxie. A believer in God and a Christ follower. She taught at the Christian Elementary School we attended. She baby sat us many times, gave piano and swimming lessons, and loved to sing with mom in a woman's quartet at church. I had the opportunity while at Moody to come for a visit where the family lived in Culver. I last saw her June, 2010. So dearly loved. So sadly missed. God bless.”
