It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merwin E. Hammon (Goshen, Indiana), who passed away on January 20, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Merwin E. Hammon and Bernice Hammon (Smith); his children, Victoria and James; his son-in-law John Cooper; his sisters, Jade Long (Hammon) and Jacqueline Schenone (Hammon); and his wife Clara F. Swihart.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rhonda S. Tavernier and Cathy C. Hardison (Richard); his grandson Greg Foy (Lisa); his great grandchildren, Nathan, Abigail Gors (Ayron), Catelyn and Madison; his grandson Joshua Cooper (Jillian); his great grandchild Imogen; his grandson Joseph Cooper (Rilla); his great grandchildren, John, James, Ezekiel, Callie, Nicholas Cooper (Meredith) and Zachary Cooper (Rachael); his sister Joan Ernsberger; and also, Betsy and Charles.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bud may be made to McCoy Memorial Baptist Church Elkhart, Indiana, or Elkhart County Heart to Heart Hospice.
