He was predeceased by : his parents, Richard Hackel and Doris Hackel (Hansen). He is survived by : his sons, Ryan Hackel (Evelyn) of Falls Church, VA and Neil Hackel (Lindsay) of Hutto, TX; his stepdaughters, Charity Flores (Manuel) of Elkhart, IN and Stephanie McKenna of Elkhart, IN; and his siblings, David Hackel (Monica) of Leesburg, FL and Debbie Sawyer (Jerry) of Reeds Spring, MO.. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Millersburg Clinton Fire Territory, 500 Carriage Lane, Millersburg, IN 46543.
