He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Newland and Helen Newland (Brown); his brother Tom Newland; and his granddaughter Tiffany Ritter. He is survived by: his wife Karen Montgomery (Kline); his children, Michael Newland of Goshen and Lisa Laubach of Edwardsburg; his stepchildren, Shelly Powell of Goshen and Joe Montgomery (Jenn) of Goshen; his grandchildren, Katie Newland of Dowagiac, Chase Newland of Hastings, Taneshia Ritter, Jason Ragsdale of Goshen, Abby, Macey and Shelby; and his great grandchildren, Malikkii, Daltin, Ezekiel, Jakobey, KaiDyn Ragsdale and Violet Russom.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Dunlap United Methodist Church or Goshen Home Care & Hospice.
